My name is Cameron Cushman, i am a Infantryman in the United States Army and i am stationed in Fairbanks Alaska at Fort Wainwright, i also am a professional photographer and you can enjoy my work here. I have posted this photograph before i believe but i just wanted to re post it to show people what the reality of war is. On this mission we were called out to a possible IED on Highway One north of Qalat city, upon arrival to the location we linked up with the local Afghanistan National Army where they proceeded to show us the exact location of the IED. Our dismounts with the EOD team disarmed the device and blow it in place.If we had not been called to this site, another Platoon from our company which was heading south bound on Highway one could of hit this IED which would have resulted in casualties.  Even though my platoon rolls out to IEDs daily it is a great feeling know that we stopped the insurgents from getting other coalition forces and that we may have saved some lives.
